It's good to be able to report, briefly, that our trainees were allowed back in the workshop at the beginning of June. Graeme Holmes reported that they turned up promptly on the Monday morning looking fit and well. This is not an observation that should go unremarked. If they are looking fit and well it is in part because they were able to eat during lockdown. Proof, if it were needed, that we did the right thing in continuing their stipend. The training restarted with all the Covid-19 protocols in place. It was approved by Colonel Nel of SAPS Grahamstown (the local police). A new trainee, Sigquibo Mazungula, has joined the workshop and is learning to produce jewellery items made from wood and resin.
