A Cook's Tour

I was able to visit the Eastern Cape again this month and was pleased to be able to link up with partners and friends there and to follow up a new contact near Cape Town. So here's a quick roundup.

• Amasango Career School, where with a little help from us, learners are now learning some basic hairdressing skills.
• Umziwethu Sewing Circle was taking a planned break, but it was good to talk to Tanya Fouche about future plans and see some of the lovely things the sewers had made.
• We met up with Meshack the potter in Kenton and talked to him about sponsorship of apprentices.
• Brickbuilding: we have an invitation for a return course in Grahamstown (Makhanda); a request from an orphanage in Alexandria and one from Claytile in the Cape.

I received a timely reminder from Tanya that things can take longer than you wish or hope. We have some very real opportunities for partnership coming up, but while doing our best to make things happen, will also have to be patient.
